coffee, sisterhood, and how to have a latté fun with your daily brew

meet the baristas
Here at LynMarie’s Coffee, we have an incredibly amazing staff. Don’t know what to order? No problem, we can help you find the perfect drink for that palate. After all, coffee shop phobias aren’t as uncommon as you may think. Many people like the idea of specialty coffee, but the thought of walking into a shop and ordering something is scary and overwhelming. At LynMarie’s we understand that you may be unsure as to what half the stuff on our menu even is…much less what you would enjoy drinking and how to order it. This is when our lovely baristas step in and save the day. They’re job is to explain, assist and create the best drinks around. We want you to absolutely LOVE our stuff, so please, challenge us to make you an awesome drink!

Ok, aside from being fabulous behind the bar, our baristas are also wonderful people to get to know. They’re funny, creative, perfect listeners and let’s be honest, they’re pretty cute to boot. We sure do love ‘em, and we’re pretty sure you will too.

BeccaAbout: I’m 18 years old and started working as a barista at LM when I was 15 and have loved every minute of these last 3 years working here! Although I am very excited to move down to Columbus this fall to attend OSU and get my degree in psychology, I am very sad to leave my job and move away from all of the connections I have made. However, working here has made me somewhat of a coffee addict so there’s no doubt that I will be stopping in every time I come home!

One LM drink everyone should try: the new Stieber Fever drink <3

Hobbies outside making magic on Main Street: I like any form of drawing, painting, etc. , staying organized, but most of all I like spending time with my family.

Best part about being a barista: Having those customers come in who are always so nice and friendly and being able to know the “regulars” and automatically know what they are going to order as soon as they step through the door.

Funniest/most memorable happening while working at LM: One of the most memorable times at LM was when Jess told me she wanted all of us to make a barista Harlem Shake video. We never actually did it but every time I think about it, it still makes me laugh! And I know it would have been a bit hit on You Tube!

BrylieAbout: Hello! My name is Brylie and I am a recent graduate from Monroeville High School. I will be attending Walsh University this fall for Biology-Pre Medicine. I hope to return to the area someday as a practicing pediatrician! I love kids and I can’t wait to work with them someday!

One LM drink everyone should try: The coconut cream smoothie! A summer must have! <3

Hobbies outside making magic on Main Street: I love books, volleyball, coffee, the beach and most of all-my family!

Best part about being a barista: Meeting new people! I love making connections and developing relationships with the locals, it’s a great opportunity to get to know the community!

Funniest/most memorable happening while working at LM: I’ve some pretty great times with co-workers here at LynMarie’s that are more like best friends! But, I have to say the most memorable moment working here was when I first served one of our loyal customers, Izzy. Before she left after her usual visit, she gave me the warmest hug and a “God Bless” wish. This might not seem like a big deal, but she was a complete stranger to me and the loss of my Grandmother was still a fresh wound. I remember trying to hide my emotions and watery eyes and thinking to myself, I hope I’m half as happy with life as she is someday. I might have given her the coffee that day, but she gave me something so much more and I will remember that forever.

HaleyAbout: My name is Haley Margaret and I am 23 years old. I am a native to the Monroeville area and my family has been farming here for more than a century. Music is my greatest passion and it brings me great joy to share it with others. I am in a band with three of my best friends, including my older brother and my fiancé. We are called The Womacks and we play over 150 shows a year all across the East side of the Mississippi. I love taking care of people and I get a great satisfaction out of making others smile.

One LM drink everyone should try: The Affagato! Ice cream and espresso- what’s not to love!

Hobbies outside making magic on Main Street: I adore making my home cozy and comfortable. The kitchen is one of my favorite rooms. I like to cook and serve. My friends and family are very important to me, and so is spending time with them. I love practicing yoga, reading, learning, and encouraging others to expand their creative hearts and minds. My BF and I are currently hosting a women’s group once a month in Huron, Ohio- ask me for more info!

Best part about being a barista: I’ve always loved coffee and tea- and I especially love coffee shops! Learning the tricks of the trade has been very exciting and fun. It’s also been a joy seeing old friends and meeting new faces. There is something very special about the atmosphere of LynMarie’s- I love it!

Funniest/most memorable happening while working at LM: I swear that I am not a clumsy person but since I started working at LynMarie’s I’m beginning to change my mind. I’ve spilled powders, sauces, and milk, squirted myself countless times with syrup and one time pulled espresso right onto my yellow pants. Thank goodness I was allowed to go home and change- it took a few tries but I did end up getting the stain to come out :)

HayleyAbout: I am a Junior at Monroeville High School where I enjoy being involved in groups such as Team Leadership. I have 4 brothers; 2 younger and 2 older.

One LM drink everyone should try: White Chocolate Pumpkin mocha

Hobbies outside making magic on Main Street: I am always with my friends and family

Best part about being a barista: There is a great atmosphere here and I haven’t met one person that wasn’t nice or without a smile on their face.

Funniest/most memorable happening while working at LM: My very first non-training day the lights flickered, then later that morning the power went out! The shop was full of customers and we didn’t know what to do. Thankfully everything was ok and the power came back on shortly after- but I am never going to forget my first day!

JylAbout: I am a very outgoing person! I have 3 dogs (one new puppy). Besides being a barista, I am also a licensed cosmetologist.

One LM drink everyone should try: Walt was Here- a white chocolate raspberry mocha

Hobbies outside making magic on Main Street: I love spending time with my friends, boyfriend and family.

Best part about being a barista: Learning how to make the different drinks and getting to know all of the awesome customers.

Funniest/most memorable happening while working at LM: While training I was frothing milk using the steam wand and the pitcher overfilled, causing extremely hot milk to spill all over the place!

QuinnAbout: I am a senior at MHS, who enjoys strumming my six sting, playing volleyball, blaring Eric Church & Jonny Cash, sun bathing, and of course coffee-drinking. I’m constantly surrounded by amazing people who have allowed me to love my life.

One LM drink everyone should try: Peanut Butter Bliss

Hobbies outside making magic on Main Street: I enjoy volleyball, singing, playing my guitar, and spending time with my huge, overwhelmingly amazing family. I love the little things in life- just storm watching from my front porch can make me happy.

Best part about being a barista: I love introducing new drinks to people, and getting to interact with so many different types of personalities. I also, of course, enjoy perfecting the finishing touches on drinks (I am the weirdo who obsesses over the way whipped cream and sprinkles make the drink look).

Funniest/most memorable happening while working at LM: I am the type of person who stresses out when there’s 5 + people in the line for a drink. That being said, there was a long line, and I swear it took me 5 minutes just to put a lid on one single drink. Finally, when I thought I’d secured the lid on my drink, the lid made the entire drink collapse and come pooling down onto my dress! This was in front of about 7 people, too. I just accepted the soiled-pants-look for the rest of the day. Everyone makes mistakes, right?! Mine just happened to be sticky.
